IF YOU ARE TAKING THIS COURSE AS A PRE-REQUISITE FOR ONE OF THE LONGER WORKSHOPS (LOGGING WITH HORSES or LOGGING WITH HAND TOOLS & SMALL MACHINERY), YOU DO NOT NEED TO REGISTER FOR INTRO TO LOW-IMPACT FORESTRY HERE. INSTEAD, COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR THE LONGER WORKSHOP (COSTS FOR THE PRE-REQUISITE ARE INCLUDED IN THE REGISTRATION FEE).

This one-day introductory field course on Low-Impact Forestry will cover woodland ecology, silviculture, legal issues, management plans, equipment considerations, and more. The course may be taken independently or as a pre-requisite for the Low-Impact logging workshops offered the weekend that follows (Nov. 16-18). Introduction to Low-Impact Forestry is suitable for beginners and experienced alike.

Morning refreshments, hot beverages, and lunch will be provided. Thank you for letting us know in advance of any dietary preferences!

The course takes place outdoors and involves traversing uneven forested terrain by foot. Please wear sturdy footwear and be prepared for all weather conditions. For questions regarding accessibility, please contact MOFGA at least one week in advance of the workshop.
